Motivational Modeling®

Identifying job success

Attracting and selecting the right candidates is challenging. Mostly because we have no objective reference point that will tell us what works and what doesn’t. That’s where Motivational Modeling® comes in.

Motivational Modeling® identifies the job strategy (behaviors, motivation, communication style, approach, work priorities,…) that will lead to success in a particular role.

This can be obtained in various manners, in increasing order of accuracy:

  • Decoding the job description
  • Based on an intake interview with someone who knows the details of the job (usually a hiring manager)
  • With the help of our behavioral assessment survey – the Sommer Survey, we identify how people (who are currently in this role) turn work responsibilities into everyday decisions, providing you a solid understanding of how they think, communicate, and behave.
  • A Sommer Survey based contrast analysis of high performers (“we want more of those!”) and low performers (“we prefer less of these!”) in the job.

When you have an accurate and objective reference point, indicating what is expected or required to be successful in this role; you can then predict job success, anticipate the actions of the person, and manage them better.

We use Motivational Modeling® in the various stages of the HR process:

  • Attract more suitable candidates
  • Select candidates with more accuracy and transparency
  • Predict and influence job success
  • Change the individual’s behavior through coaching or by shaping their environment
  • Teach the manager how to manage their team member for maximum success

With our Motivational Modeling® technology, we can identify 50 psycho-linguistic components. These subconscious language algorithms determine how someone filters information, perceives their environment and their role, sets priorities, and the behavior they’ll choose on a daily basis. They are verifiable in interviews and can be observed readily (over time).

Since they are language-based, you can also use them in communication. Each of these 50 patterns comes with specific linguistic suggestions that can either turn the person on or off.

What will this do for you?

  • Ability to write and design customized messages, emails, or marketing materials – specifically designed to be motivating to your audience.
  • You’ll be able to screen candidates with more accuracy, and can present a clear and accurate picture to your client, detailing the benefits and potential risks of each candidate.
  • Process large volumes of candidates in less time, with a degree of accuracy that goes far beyond CV screening.
  • During interviews, you can describe the job in such a way that the person is excited by it, or turned off by it if they’re not a good fit – taking the right candidates to the next rounds.
  • In negotiations, you’ll know exactly how candidates decide and what they value, enabling you to make better offers and get a higher acceptance rate.
